Grant Seeking Basics Workshop
Designed for new personnel as well as experienced staff who seek to refresh their skills, this workshop will help you to:
- get yourself and your organization ready for fundraising;
- identify funding prospects;
- develop a fundraising plan and make your plan work;
- prepare high-quality proposals; and
- build long-term relationships with funders.
The 30-page handout provides step-by-step guidance and identifies resources that can help streamline and simplify the grantseeking process.
Intro to Federal Grants Workshop
New to federal grants? Federal RFPs (Requests for Proposals) are lengthy and can be intimidating. This workshop will show you how to:
- simplify your search for federal grants;
- receive automated email notices of new opportunities; and
- manage the proposal development process from conception to submission.
You will spend time de-constructing an actual RFP so that you can pursue federal grants with confidence!
Your Workshop Presenter
Merlene Alicia Vassall, JD has developed successful funding proposals that have secured more than $22 million in support of a variety of projects in the areas of elementary and secondary education, child care, child welfare, housing rehabilitation, community economic development, foreign policy education, health, and other issues. She has also conducted numerous fundraising and writing workshops over the past 17 years. These include “A Federal Grants Writing Workshop” held on August 2, 2009 in Detroit, MI, at the request of Congressman John Conyers, Jr.
